Plan around the actual pickup
Canal-area journeys need a destination-led plan
A Thorold request may involve a commercial yard, a residential pickup or a route connecting Highway 406, Highway 58 and Niagara destinations. Tell us which side of the canal the vehicle and receiving property are on, together with their full addresses. A vehicle's height, weight and condition influence route and equipment choices; the shortest route on a passenger-car map is not automatically suitable for a towing combination. At a worksite, identify the actual loading entrance and any overhead obstruction. Current closures and posted restrictions should be checked when the movement is planned.
Different situations. Different towing needs.
Commercial breakdown in a yard or industrial area
Provide the vehicle configuration, load and gate contact. Explain whether other vehicles or site operations limit the approach. A useful job description includes both recovery access and the repair facility that will receive the disabled truck.
Transfer involving a canal crossing
Give both addresses rather than prescribing a route. Overall dimensions, loaded weight and current restrictions need review before a route is chosen, particularly where the vehicle has damage or cannot be handled as a normal rolling load.
Passenger vehicle with wheel or suspension damage
Describe which wheel is affected and whether steering or braking remains possible. A damaged vehicle may need additional loading aids or a different recovery approach before it can be transported to a Thorold or regional repair shop.
Make your Thorold request easier to assess.
- Provide full pickup and delivery addresses, including which property entrance is accessible.
- Report overall vehicle dimensions, trailer connections and load information for commercial transfers.
- Describe damaged running gear or locked wheels before asking for a standard tow quote.
